Women’s Sports Leadership, Team Building & Participation
Women's Sports Leadership
Kate brings an eclectic and powerful skill set to women’s sporting leadership, whether it be in sports administration or within a sporting team.
Using story as a base for self awareness, leadership, authenticity, trust and meaning making, Story Wise can deliver individually and in teams, a leadership program brilliantly suited to women in sport.
Kate has a deep personal commitment to women’s sport, which lead her to drive the expansion of the Victoria Women’s Football League to two divisions (many moons ago). She has developed women’s football competitions and teams, captain-coached a premiership reserves team, been secretary to a state sporting body and generally been a leader in and for women’s football.
Women’s Sports Team Building
Story sharing is one of the most powerful ways of building team connecting, cohesion, understanding, trust and sense of belonging. Kate has many years of playing women’s sport, coaching and leading women’s hockey and football teams. She brings deep understanding, skills and experience to story circles and how shared stories, shared values and deep connection in the clubrooms, translates to brilliant teamwork on the field.
Women’s Sporting Participation
Kate Lawrence understands well the passion women have to play, belong, compete and enjoy sport. She also understands too well the barriers, both inner and outer for women’s full sporting participation. Bringing her experience developing women’s football, designing and delivering community engagement programs, her training as a certified IAP2 practitioner and facilitator, and her deep understanding of the power of story, she is a great asset to any project seeking to increase women’s involvement and participation in sport.
