Story Council is 6 sessions over 12 weeks. The group, whether a team or by invitation, meets in circle every fortnight for 1 - 2 hours to share stories. This is a transformational process that enables people to be heard and listen - human to human.
The sessions can include themes: hopes and dreams, struggles and pain, turning points, relationships, purpose and values, and any other topic the group wants to explore.
Participants will be learn the elements of using Circle and in triads learn to host the circles so that the skills of holding story circles is developed and the circles can continue once the program has ended.
Why Story Circles? In any workplace, people in a team have something in common, their humanity, and paying attention to the field of this commons is like tending the soil of your garden. It is in this field of commons that trust, connection, hope and relationship exist.
Sitting in circle, listening to each other, sharing stories and connecting, makes us whole, it provides balance to the disembodied abstraction of work. It allows us to be fully human with hearts and bodies, history and experience. It takes courage and commitment but human centred story processes give far more than they take.
